Since 05/05/2008, the breakfast studios have seen many successful young people share their lives with the Y masses in hope to demonstrate that current circumstance is no predictor of future successes. Such an individual, Tebogo Makgatho Director and Board Member at Torque Technical Computer training (Torque-IT), one of the largest IT skills development solutions companies accredited with Global Technology vendors, is yet another great individual who is an illustration of how humble beginnings may lead to great accomplishments. So now that we know what Tebogo is doing with her life, the question is what are you doing with yours???

On Saturday, 15 May 2004, at the World Trade Center in Zurich in the presence of high-ranking government officials of the candidate countries as well as hundreds of media representatives from all around the world, FIFA President Joseph S. Blatter announced the results of the vote, South Africa will host the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, the first in the history of world football’s governing body to be held in Africa. With just 100 days to go, as young people, what are we doing to ensure that we benefit from the 2010 World Cup coming to South Africa.

Dating, many might say, is a complex yet highly satisfactory exercise. Now should we bring say a camera, few newspaper articles and a VIP entrace to the mix, oh and not forgetting the groupie love, mix it all in one big pot of love, and pray for a wonderfully sane relationship with your “famous” significant other, would that exercise program last long enough to see the light of day? How do people manage dating a famous lover and when this pot of love is shattered, is the moving on process more difficult than it would be if you were dating a Jerry, Sipho and Sello?

An article in one of the local weekend newspapers released a story, dubbing politicians as the “new kwaito stars”. Now it is no secret that ANCYL president Julius Malema has been in the spotlight lately for his rather lavish tastes, some even arguing that one cannot be both politician and entrepreneur, that relevant individual would have an unfair advantage. However do young people want to follow broke politicians? If our leaders are seen as broke, do we as ordinary citizens stand a chance of survival? Share your thoughts, lets talk about it

Have you ever felt like wanting to go back to the the school uniform, long assemblies, and lisping register teacher all because you couldn’t cope with the complexities of the “outside world”. Once we leave high school and get into some kind of higher learning institution, there are certain expectations that we want met, like meeting new cool freinds, or getting an “A” on the first test. So what happens when you find yourself being a complete loner and getting an “F” on the first and second test. Do you quite? Hide under a matress or roll over and die?

When we say that an individual is rich, what exactly do we mean. Do we see them in a 5 series BMW, living in Houghton, and think wow he’s made it. And what makes an individual wealthy, is it because they have two 5 series BMW’s instead of one, and two houses in Houghton. Do South Africans aspire to be wealthy or rich? What is the difference… really.

Deputy Police Minister Fikile Mbalula is the latest member of President Jacob Zuma’s government to confess to a taste for expensive German cars. Stories about government officials purchasing German vehicles have seemed to reach a peak. So one should ask, would we as a society be pleased with government officials (who represent South Africa) driving old beat up cars in the aim to save money. Are we not being completely unreasonable, not to mention unrealistic, for expecting our representatives (who perform extraordinary tasks) to drive ordinary cars? If Barack Obama were to visit South Africa surely we should be proud driving him in a Beetle, after all we would be saving costs????

According to reports South Africa’s music industry is taking the fight for more local content to the boards of radio stations across Mzansi. The remarkable drop in local content has irked the ANC Youth League whose President Julius Malema met the board of the SABC to discuss concerns of musicians yesterday. Independent local Record Labels joined the ANCYL President in meeting with the SABC. Now the question posed in this situation is: Does society lean towards international artists when discussing music appreciation, is society more interestd in Beyonce and Lil Wayne rather than Mandoza or Chomee??? Or have radio stations lost the plot????

With the current state of recession in the country many people have found himself in a lot of debt. Some not even answering private number phone calls in fear that it could be another reminder from debt collectors to settle their debt.
Well we were chatting about debt this morning, and many shared the same the same sentiments, in acknowledging that they haven’t been as cautious when handling their finances as expected. But how many of us have no debt??? And if you do please do share how, is it even possible??
